Spent the day at Deerfest 2010 Friday the 25th. WOW if you love to hunt deer this is the show you need to check out. All the latest in bows, clothing, gear, outfitters it's all there. You can also get your deer head officially score by the Buck and Bear club. You have to check out the Pro Hood clothing booth, my friend Andy and I purchased the whole outfit for $89. It included the pullover hood, pants, gloves and a hat. It is the ultimate in early season gear and extremely comfortable. There are plenty of your favorite outdoor celebrities there to talk to and get autographs. I had an opportunity to meet and talk to Lee and Tiffany Lakosky from "The Crush" we may be able to get them on the show over the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned. A very special thanks to Pat Reeve and Nicole Jones. Pat was a guest on last Wednesdays show, great people and a pleasure to be around. Make sure you check out Driven with Pat and Nicole.

Spent this last weekend up at Post Lake. The rain did not stop us at all. Spent Saturday taking my daughter Hannah and her Friend Kendra to the Hwy 45 riding stable. We took a 45 minute ride, the back of my front is still not the same. Did a little fishing, caught a few bluegills and several bass. Father's day is only a couple days away. Stop in at Gander Mountain in Appleton to say hi, have a free hot dog on Sunday from noon until 2pm, register to win a $100 gift card when you sign up for a Gander Mountain MasterCard ( drawing Saturday @3pm) and most important
get that perfect gift for your special Dad.

I hope all of you had a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day. I spent the weekend with my family up at the cabin in Post Lake. The goal was to open the cabin and relax. The mice had something to say about that. The little buggers had taken up residence in one of our cabinets. 3 hours later and 6 dead mice we moved on. The water on Post lake was down significantly and warmed up quickly. I believe that the quick warm up caused the crappies and some perch to die off. The shoreline was littered with them. As for the bluegills, non-existent. Not sure where they are but they're not in the shallows nesting. On a more positive note, I took a vet to my favorite brook trout spot. My nephew and I paddled for 30 minutes to get to the spot. As usual we caught plenty of chubs. We did manage to land 6 nice brook trout ranging from 10 to 14 inches. The one pictures was 14 inches. I hope some of you took the time to share the outdoors with someone this past weekend, even better if you shared it with a Military veteran. Thanks to all the vet's out there for putting it on the line. A big thanks to you to Dan your a pretty cool nephew. Now remember don't tell a soul about that spot. Next time you can buy the bait.
