Well summer is finally here. So get out and enjoy the outdoors. As my last guests on the show Jim and Brian Keller stated, the walleyes are biting. I have seen many boats out on the mud flats trolling with boards. I have also seen many fisherman using a slip bobber rig tipped with a night crawler having success. I have received a report from northern Wisconsin that the crappies are biting pretty well. The bait of preference was a PINKIE jig but the always popular black beetle spin with a red belly works as well. Good luck to to Brian and Jim in their next tournament.

As I always talk about on the show, get the kids involved. This past week my daughter graduated from 5th grade. I asked what she wanted for graduation. she replied "can I take a friend to the cottage for the weekend ". You all know the answer to that. The weather was not the greatest but we made the best of it anyway. I taught the girls how to kayak and did some fishing and enjoyed the outdoors. The bluegills are starting to get into the shallows. We just need some stable warm weather. The crappies were biting a bit on
Justin Hull's favorite bait the black beetle spin with the
red belly.
The brook trout were active on the Hunting river. I caught several nice ones and a 12 inch all on a Panther Martin spinner. Yellow with red spots and a silver blade. I also had an encounter with a 5 foot long pine snake at one of my favorite trout haunts. WOW what a surprise that was. I walked right up on him sunning himself on the side of the road. I went to get the camera but was to late he slipped into his roadside cave. Don't forget Father's day. Stop in at Gander and check out all the Father's day specials. CLICK HERE to check it out.
Congratulations Hannah, you had an awesome year
