Well, season 3 comes to an end. This season was most exciting and disappointing at the same time. The season started with calling in a gobbler at 6:30 am. He came in strutting all the way. What an awesome sight to see. He gave me a shot at 22 yards. I hit him hard with an arrow and he ran to the woods. after about 10 minutes I walked to the spot I last saw him. I quickly picked up the trail. I must have followed him for what seemed to be 30 minutes. It actually turned out to be 90 minutes. The gobbler wandered on to some property that I did not have access to. I do not trespass. So unfortunately I did not retrieve the bird. The next 3 days were equally as awesome. I did stick to my commitment of using my bow. I had one more gobbler come in at 37 yards, but it was a little out of my comfort range. It was fun to get out and enjoy the outdoors again to that level. I will head out next week and try again. On a more fun note, while scouring my property for the bird I found 2 deer sheds. Both were small but cool to find.
